Underestimating The Simple

Underestimating The Simple

It was a sunny winter day. The inside of the house was quite warm, but clearly, it was a winter chill outside. As she watched the chaotic traffic of Istanbul from the balcony, she drifted into her thoughts.

Everyone has their own different trials in this life. Some has health issues, some has relationship problems, some struggles with infertility, some can’t establish a good relationship with their children, and some tries to make everything in their life perfect. Being a perfectionist has been so difficult. It is a process that physically and mentally exhausted a person. Wanting to do everything perfect… Yet, humans are beings capable of making mistakes. Being a perfectionist has been a trait that Nilgün sees in herself and couldn't correct. She tries to control everything. When things get out of her control, she couldn’t tolerate anyone. She thought, "How much we try to live against our nature." It was as if when rowing against the stream, people feel very powerful. They think that they could control the water. However, they might not realize throughout their life that they were the ones being swept away by the stream.

Basiti Küçümseme

We are underestimating…

We underestimate doing something simple, she thought to herself. Then she thought about the message she received.

A message starting with "Don't abandon the little of what you can't do the most of."

She wondered what she couldn't do well in her life...

I really can't spend the quality time I want with my spouse, so I was neglecting short coffee breaks too.

I was underestimating reading a couple of lines because I didn't have time to read for hours.

I was too proud to wash a couple of glasses when I thought I had to clear the entire kitchen counter at once.

I avoided quick chats, thinking either I should have long conversations with my loved ones or not talk at all.

There are so many things I have avoided doing...

And because of this, there are many things I have postponed...

In a way, I was shooting myself in the foot, and then I felt inadequate...

Yet;

  • Reading a book for 2 minutes,
  • Chatting for 5 minutes,
  • Writing for 10 minutes,
  • Spending 15 minutes with your spouse,

These are things that feel so good to a person… Things that makes you feel like you are a part of life and enables you to do more significant things...

In reality, when a person tries to start big, they can’t achieve it...

The small step is always the biggest step leading to the bigger one...

If I want to achieve things, I just need to learn not to underestimate the small...

How much humans underestimate the simple things…

  • Either all!
  • Or nothing!

Yet, haven’t been the actions that initiated major transformations in our lives starting from the simple? What did they say; Ants defeat elephants ☺

We shouldn't underestimate the small,

The path to a person's happiness, success, and recovery has gone through here...

Like vast seas made up of tiny water drops...

When you look at it, in the end, it always produce a scene that gives you peace...

&

"Among billions of people,

What significance could 'one' person have?

Ask that question to that 'one' person!"

Either all or nothing... It feels like making progress with little is almost like not making progress at all. How much we underestimate things, really! It’s so true what was written. Kudos to the writer.

When we underestimate the simple, we are not able to solve our problems. Unless we solve our problems, we are not able to be happy unfortunately. Therefore, it is very important to take into account the simple.

Adı: Alışveriş, Soyadı: Boşluk Hafta sonunun rehaveti hâlâ üzerindeydi. Alarm çoktan çalmış, defalarca ertelenmiş ve sonunda adeta pes etmişti. Yatmaktan beli ağrımıştı. Pozisyonunu değiştirirken eli yastığının altındaki telefonuna uzandı. Aylin’in sabah rutini her zamanki gibiydi: Önce mesajlarını kontrol eder, ardından alışveriş sitelerinde gezinmeye başlardı.

Yaptığın her şey, sabrettiğin her durum, gözünden akan her damla bile, seni asıl amacına yaklaştırsın. Geri dönüp baktığında, “Ne yaptıysam beni oraya götürdü...

What Do You Think About Exercise?

What Do You Think About Exercise? If we asked this question, how do you think most people would respond? Most would talk about the benefits of exercise and argue that it’s necessary. In other words, if we asked “Why should we do it?” most people would agree that it’s a good thing. But if we look at the reality, these statements often remain in theory. In fact, the number of people who are truly engaged in exercise is quite small. If it’s really such a good thing, isn’t it strange that we don’t make space for it in our daily routine? When it comes to things that we know we’ll enjoy like shopping, eating, or entertainment, we have no problem making time. We don’t mind the effort or the travel it takes. But when it comes to moving for our health, do we show the same enthusiasm? “I don’t have time… I’m too busy… I feel tired… I can’t afford it… There’s nowhere to walk… There’s no proper gym… Besides, what would be the benefit of doing exercise just for two hours a week?” It’s never hard to...
